In a heartwarming celebration of life, twin sisters Doris Ward and Loris Pryor, both 100 years old, gathered with family and friends to commemorate their centennial milestone. These remarkable African American women, born during the Calvin Coolidge administration, have not only witnessed a century of American history but have also created a legacy of love, unity, and resilience.

From their early years to their 100th birthday, Doris and Loris have been inseparable. Growing up, they shared every aspect of their lives, a bond that only grew stronger with time. “We are always together with everything. She ain’t going without me. I ain’t going without her,” Loris said with a smile, highlighting the depth of their connection. This steadfast companionship has been the cornerstone of their long and fulfilling lives.

Together, the sisters have nine children, and their family tree spans several generations of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The centennial celebration was a joyous occasion, bringing together their extensive family and close friends. The gathering was not just a birthday party but a testament to the lives they have touched and the legacy they have built. “The good Lord blessed us to still see our family, and that was a blessing,” Doris reflected, grateful for the opportunity to witness the fruits of their long lives.

Throughout their lives, Doris and Loris have shared countless memories. One of their most cherished pastimes is dancing. Although they couldn’t get up and dance on their 100th birthday, they still enjoyed the music by tapping their feet, surrounded by their celebrating family. “Life is very precious, or I wouldn’t be here,” Loris remarked, appreciating the simple joys that have filled their century-long journey.
