Nigerians Raise N1.8m For Protester’s Son Who Dreams Of Becoming Programmer
In a heartwarming display of solidarity, Nigerians have come together to raise N1.8 million for the son of a protester who dreams of becoming a programmer. Ogwu Chijioke, a protester who joined the nationwide #EndBadGovernance demonstrations in Lagos, shared his struggles in making his 13-year-old son’s dreams a reality.
Chijioke, who was interviewed by Channels Television at the Lekki Toll Gate area of Lagos, narrated how he couldn’t afford to buy data for his son to learn programming or pay for his tuition fees. However, his passion and determination to secure his son’s future resonated with many Nigerians.
After his video went viral, social media influencer Morris Monye spearheaded a crowdfunding effort to raise N1.8 million to support Chijioke’s son. Barely 24 hours later, the target amount was reached, showcasing the power of collective action and generosity.
This story highlights the struggles of many Nigerians and the importance of community support in achieving dreams.
