A Nigerian lady, who relocated to the United Kingdom five years ago, has taken to social media to express her frustration and loneliness. She revealed that since her move, no man has shown interest in her romantically, unlike her experiences in Nigeria.
The lady, who chose to remain anonymous, wrote: “I’m beginning to think I’m invisible. I’ve been in the UK for five years now, and not a single man has asked me out or shown any interest in me. It’s like I’m stuck in a rut. I miss the attention and affection I used to get in Nigeria.”
She continued: “I’m starting to regret leaving my boyfriend behind in Nigeria. At least he appreciated me and showed me love. Here, it’s like I’m just a ghost. I’m tired of being alone and longing for human connection.”
Her post has sparked a debate on social media, with some people advising her to be patient and focus on building a life in her new country, while others have encouraged her to try online dating or social clubs to meet new people.

Maureen studied BSc (Hons) Mental Health Nursing at Southampton Solent University and currently lives in London, United Kingdom. She is also a volunteer at the British Red Cross, where she selflessly gives her time to support those in need.
In addition to her work in the UK, Maureen founded REENS CARE, a non-governmental organization (NGO) in Nigeria that provides vital support to indigent children.
