MultiChoice Talent Factory's Vision for Africa's Development

The MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) West Africa Director, Atinuke Babatunde, has outlined the academy’s vision to shape Africa’s development by equipping young people with skills to tell their stories.

Since its establishment in 2018, MTF has had over 300 graduates, with 70% utilizing their skills to secure employment or become entrepreneurs. The fully funded experiential and training program is designed to upgrade young Africans’ skills in film and television, enabling them to compete globally.

MTF supports industry development through training students as filmmakers, masterclasses with industry experts, and industry integration. Each year, 60 talented individuals from 13 countries undergo a 12-month academic program, including theory and hands-on experience in cinematography, editing, audio production, and storytelling.

In addition to the Lagos Academy, regional MTF academies in Nairobi (Kenya) and Lusaka (Zambia) offer fully sponsored programs, partnering with local tertiary institutions for course development. MTF provides a robust distribution network to impact people’s lives, relieving pressure on sourcing distribution platforms.

The academy is committed to creating and curating premium and authentic content for diverse audiences across Africa. By upskilling young Africans in film and television production, MTF is shaping the next phase of Africa’s development and empowering the continent’s young people to tell their stories.
