Tennis In Need Of Video Replays, Says Novak Djokovic
Novak Djokovic has called for the introduction of video replays in tennis after a disputed call at the Cincinnati Open sparked controversy. Jack Draper’s match-winning volley against Felix Auger-Aliassime was deemed valid by the umpire, despite protests that the ball had bounced on Draper’s side of the court first.
Djokovic described the lack of video replays as “embarrassing” and pointed out that technology like Hawk-Eye is already used for line calls. He argued that video replays should be available to help prevent similar incidents in the future.
