Lyzianah Emakoua is a force of nature—an inspiring young leader blazing trails as the Founder and Executive Director of the Center for Community Impact and Sustainability (CCIS) and the USA Executive Director of Hallmark International Youth Club (HIYC). In these pivotal roles, she champions mentorship and capacity-building initiatives, creating vibrant platforms for young people to emerge as the leaders of tomorrow.
Recently, Lyzianah received the prestigious Exceptional Pan-African Youth Leader Award in Kenya, presented by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. This accolade celebrates her remarkable contributions to youth leadership and empowerment across the continent. With expertise in Youth, Peace, and Security (YPS) and gender issues, Lyzianah is a passionate advocate for integrating gender perspectives into climate action and peace initiatives. Her impressive background includes key roles at UNESCO’s Regional Office in Dakar, the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs, and significant work on Capitol Hill.
Her advocacy shines a spotlight on marginalized women and girls grappling with the dual challenges of the climate crisis and gender-based violence in humanitarian settings. Lyzianah has made her voice heard at high-level gatherings, including the United Nations General Assembly and the High-Level Political Forum, and has served as a youth delegate and global ambassador at renowned events like the World Bank Youth Summit, the Paris Peace Forum, and the 2023 World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates.
An academic powerhouse, Lyzianah earned her Master’s degree in International Affairs from George Washington University and studied International Security and Development at Sciences Po, Paris. With her unwavering commitment and impressive credentials, Lyzianah Emakoua is undeniably shaping the future of youth leadership on a global scale.
