Yemi Alade Set To Record And Perform Theme Song For Nigerian Superhero Animation ‘Iyanu’
Nigerian singer Yemi Alade has been tapped to record and perform the theme song for Lion Forge Entertainment’s upcoming Nigerian superhero animation, ‘Iyanu.’ The animated series, set to debut in 2025, follows the story of Iyanu, a teenage orphan girl who discovers her powers rooted in Yoruba history and ancient arts.
Alade expressed her excitement about the project, hoping fans will enjoy the song as much as she does. “I’ve been asked to sing the theme song for the incredible animated series ‘Iyanu’… Enjoy my song ‘Iyanu’ right now. This is a love message from me to you, and I really hope that you enjoy it as much as I do.”
‘Iyanu’ boasts a star-studded cast, including Serah Johnson, Adesua Etomi-Wellington, Stella Damasus, Blossom Chukwujekwu, and Shaffy Bello. Yemi Alade’s involvement further highlights the global appeal of Nigerian music and storytelling. The series will be available on Cartoon Network and Max in the US and on Showmax in 44 African countries.
